Reality--What a Concept

Who cares about the Dan Quayle-Murphy Brown reality conundrum?
Far more serious is the way “Murphy Brown” fractures the reality of parenthood. No dark circles, no mother-child bonding, no change in Murphy’s world view as a result of being a parent. The baby has been relegated to a running joke; Murphy’s life continues right on track.
Deciding to have the baby was the show’s main subject for a season, but actually caring for him is simply dismissed.
Murphy, you look more like Dan’s nasty stereotype all the time.
