Blackwell, Washington Select 4-Year Colleges

Tailbacks Howard Blackwell of Valley College and Brett Washington of Santa Monica will continue their collegiate football careers at Pacific and Hawaii, respectively.
Blackwell (5-foot-9, 188 pounds), a 1990 graduate of Hart High, led Western State Conference players in rushing (1,255 yards) and scoring (23 touchdowns for 138 points).
Washington (6-0, 240), a former Granada Hills High standout, ranked third in the WSC in rushing with 1,082 yards.
