Love Suit: Rock singer Courtney Love is suing her doctor and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, charging they improperly released information about alleged heroin treatment while she was pregnant. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges medical fraud and negligence, invasion of privacy, wrongful disclosure of medical information and negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The court action, which seeks unspecified damages from Dr. Michael Horwitz and the hospital, maintains someone told the Los Angeles Times in August about Love’s registration at Cedars under an assumed name, methadone treatment and the birth of her daughter Aug. 18, and that The Times reported the story shortly afterward. The Times was not named as a defendant. A Cedars-Sinai representative declined to comment on the action. Love is lead singer of the band Hole and the wife of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain.
