Getting Their Kicks: Dan Cortese and James Wilder will be behind the wheel when NBC’s remake of the 1960s’ CBS series “Route 66” goes into production this month. Cortese is familiar to TV viewers as host of “MTV Sports” and from his appearances in Burger King commercials. “Route 66” marks his dramatic acting debut. Wilder was a regular on “Equal Justice” and “Bronx Zoo” and appeared in the Emmy-winning movie “The War Between the Classes.” Bert Leonard, creator of the original series, is executive producer, and Harley Peyton is executive producer/writer. No telecast dates have been scheduled. The real Route 66 highway, incidentally, is marking its 66th anniversary.
