SAN BERNARDINO — Twenty-six employees of St. Bernardine Medical Center were relieved of duty Wednesday after an investigation determined that they were using and dealing marijuana and methamphetamines on hospital grounds, officials said.
Hospital spokeswoman Leslie Roundy said the employees--none of them nurses or doctors--have resigned or been fired. She added that the inappropriate use of hospital medications was not an issue in the investigation, which concluded this week.
Roundy said none of the employees had been arrested in the probe conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. She said the hospital has made drug counseling available to all involved.
