World IN BRIEF : AUSTRIA : OPEC Ministers Can’t Agree on Cuts

OPEC nations agreed on the need to rein in oil production to keep crude prices from falling, but they said they were at odds over who should make the cuts, and by how much. More talks were to be held today to try to resolve the differences. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries is under pressure to come up with an accord--and make it stick--to reduce output in the spring, when demand for crude tumbles in the United States and other oil-consuming regions.
