SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFFS : BOYS’ BASKETBALL : Mater Dei Wins Coin Toss, Plays Host to Claremont at Chapman

Mater Dei, defending Southern Section Division I-A boys’ basketball champion, won a coin toss and will play host to Claremont Friday night at Chapman University in the division quarterfinals.
Third-seeded Huntington Beach will travel to Santa Monica City College to meet Los Angeles Loyola in another quarterfinal. All games begin at 7:30 p.m.
Irvine will wait until Monday to plays its quarterfinal game, meeting the winner of the Hueneme-Thousand Oaks game Friday night.
The pairings (quarterfinals except where noted):
Division I-AA--Rialto Eisenhower (21-6) vs. Capistrano Valley (19-9) at Saddleback College.
Division I-A--Claremont (21-6) vs. Mater Dei (28-1) at Chapman; Huntington Beach (26-3) vs. Loyola (19-7) at Santa Monica City College.
Division II-AA--Riverside J.W. North (27-0) vs. Edison (19-8) at Ocean View HS.
Division II-A--Kennedy (25-3) vs. Manhattan Beach Mira Costa (20-7) at South Torrance High; Bellflower St. John Bosco (24-2) vs. Trabuco Hills (22-6) at El Toro High.
Division III-AA--Estancia (15-11) vs. Inglewood Morningside (24-4) at Inglewood High; Santa Margarita (22-4) vs. Sonora (23-3) at Brea-Olinda High.
Division IV-AA (Semifinals)--Riverside County Banning (18-5) vs. Corona del Mar (15-12) at Estancia High.
Division V-AA--Capistrano Valley Christian (24-3) at Canoga Park Faith Baptist (15-11); Brethren Christian (20-7) at Van Nuys Montclair Prep (16-8).
Division V-A--Liberty Christian (18-4) at Fontana Ambassador Christian (20-6).
