First View in L.A.: “Silverlake Life: The View From Here,” a documentary about a gay couple with AIDS that won the Grand Jury prize and Freedom of Expression award at the Sundance Film Festival, will have its world premiere and open its L.A. run March 19 at the Vista Theater in Silver Lake. Co-directed by Peter Friedman and the late Tom Joslin, this video-to-film transfer has been the subject of much comment since its Sundance screening because of its graphic portrayal of the lives of people with AIDS. Zeitgeist Films plans a nationwide release later this spring.
