The Capistrano Unified School District has named a Santa Monica High School administrator as principal of the new Aliso Niguel High School, which will open in September.
Trustees conducted a nationwide search before choosing Denise Danne, assistant principal at Santa Monica High School, to oversee the school, which will serve students in Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel.
Capistrano officials said Danne will bring extensive knowledge of school reform and trends in teaching and learning strategies. She also is an advocate of multicultural education and is fluent in Spanish and French.
Danne, who holds a doctoral degree in institutional management from Pepperdine, has also taught for the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Las Virgenes Unified School District and Glendale Community College.
