HOLLYWOOD : Contract OKd for Security on Hollywood Boulevard
- Share via
The Community Redevelopment Agency on Thursday approved a $750,000 contract for a security company to provide uniformed officers along Hollywood Boulevard for 15 hours a day.
If the contract is approved by the City Council, the security officers would patrol the street on foot and supply public information to tourists, shoppers and residents, CRA officials said.
Patriot Security would provide about a dozen uniformed officers to patrol the boulevard 15 hours a day, seven days a week, including peak business hours. The officers, who would operate between La Brea Avenue on the west and Gower Street on the east, would complement the Los Angeles Police Department’s bicycle patrol.
The unarmed security officers also would be trained in first aid, CRA officials said.
