The former President was to receive the James Forrestal award from the National Security Industrial Assn., a group of 364 defense-oriented firms.
The award is given to an American “whose leadership has promoted significant understanding and cooperation between industry and government in the interest of national security.”
The Bushes were to return home to Houston today after visiting their daughter, Doro, and her husband, who are expecting their first child.
