Covina : Murder Arraignment Set
A Covina man accused of causing the death of a 3-year-old girl in a house fire will be arraigned Monday in Citrus Municipal Court in West Covina.
Dennis Marsh, 33, was arrested March 18 after a 3:45 a.m. fire in his home at 157 S. Forestdale Ave. Investigators concluded that Marsh used illegal wiring to draw electricity from nearby power poles to his home after his electricity was shut off March 2 for non-payment.
The illegal setup sparked a fire that destroyed the home and killed Aubrey Cowger, the daughter of Marsh’s live-in companion, Bridget Douglas, 24.
Murder charges were filed against Marsh Monday, but his arraignment was delayed on a request by his attorney. Bail was set at $100,000, but his lawyer will seek a reduction, court officials said.
