In another Orange Empire Conference baseball game:

Orange Coast 9, Golden West 6--Curtis Bruce and Darren Brink each had two hits and scored two runs for host Orange Coast (15-10, 8-5). Orange Coast’s Justin Halper and T.J. Graber each added two hits and an RBI.

Golden West took a 1-0 lead with a run in the first inning, but OCC came back with two in the first, one in the second, and two more in the third to take a 5-1 lead.

Mike Moutrey and Jim Slagle had home runs for Golden West (9-14, 3-9).

At the Golden West men’s swimming Invitational:

Golden West dominates--Golden West took first place in 11 of 13 events in the nonscoring meet. Bob Sala won the 50 freestyle (22.41), 100 backstroke (54.65) and was a member of the winning 200 freestyle and medley relay teams for Golden West.

Rafael Guijarro won the 500 freestyle (4:43.62) and 200 freestyle (1:42.48) and was part of the 200 freestyle relay team as well.
