Charges Dropped: Criminal charges were dropped Monday against Mark Wahlberg (rap music star Marky Mark) after he agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to settle a civil suit brought by a young man who accused the performer of repeatedly kicking him in the face and breaking his jaw last August. Wahlberg maintained, however, that he had not kicked Robert Crehan while another man held him down, but settled as “a business decision” to end what was “an extreme distraction,” his lawyer said. Crehan’s lawyer would not specify the amount of the settlement, saying only that Crehan was “compensated fairly.”
