Rugby Championship Begins Friday

The annual Pacific Coast Rugby Club Championship begins Friday at Cal State Long Beach.
The Belmont Shore Rugby Football Club is one of eight teams competing in the first-division, single elimination tournament. Belmont Shore opens at 2 p.m. Friday against a team from Seattle.
Four teams are entered in the second-division finals, which are being staged for the first time, beginning Saturday. The second-division championship match is set for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by the first division final at 1:30 p.m. The winners advance to the national tournament.
Admission to the finals is $2.
