Hot ‘Shots’

Rapper LL Cool J has the week’s hot new release, “14 Shots to the Dome,” which enters The Times’ Southern California pop album chart at No. 8 while snaring the No. 3 slot on the R&B; chart. As expected, “The Bodyguard” bounced back to the top of the pop chart after being displaced for a week by Depeche Mode’s new album, which slipped to No. 2. “The Bodyguard” also continues to dominate the R&B; chart. The “Coverdale/Page” album, pairing rockers David Coverdale and Jimmy Page, may be a flash-in-the-pan. After making a splashy pop chart debut two weeks ago, at No. 6, it quickly dropped out of the Top 20.
