DEEP SECRETS: Taxpayers say the darndest things. “A woman once told me that as soon as the kids were grown, she was splitting from her husband,” said Pat Szekel, an Orange-based accountant. Another client asked about deducting interest and taxes on a home maintained for a girlfriend. “He was married,” Szekel said. . . . The recession has made clients “very apologetic about their income being way down,” Szekel said. “They’re almost embarrassed to come in.”
