COSTA MESA : Fire Guts a Small Industrial Building
- Share via
A raging fire gutted a small industrial building Sunday morning before firefighters from five departments could successfully control it. No one was reported hurt.
The 7 a.m. blaze destroyed Powerplant Specialists Inc., a facility that services power plant equipment, at Baker Center, 666 W. Baker St., said acting Battalion Chief Randy Croll.
Smoke from the fire also reached an adjacent building, which sustained minor damage, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby businesses.
The blaze was brought under control in about 30 minutes by about 45 firefighters from Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley and Santa Ana, Croll said. Cause of the fire is being investigated.
