Auction Preview: Sotheby’s Beverly Hills showroom offers a preview of highlights from New York’s spring auctions, today through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The stars of the show--Henri Matisse’s “Fatma, La Mulatresse,” a large figure painting from the artist’s Moroccan period, and Paul Cezanne’s “Still Life With Apples”--are valued at more than $10 million each. The two French works were consigned by European private collectors. Childe Hassam’s 1894 painting, “The Room of Flowers,” valued at about $5 million to $7 million, is the most important American artwork in the preview.
