Police staking out a Fatburger restaurant in the Palms area arrested a man and woman suspected of robbing 20 fast-food restaurants from the South Bay to Van Nuys, detectives said Friday.
Julie Ann Pesnell, 24, of Inglewood and Kenneth Carter, 22, of Los Angeles were taken into custody late Thursday in the stolen red Camaro they had used during two armed robberies a short time earlier, police said. Investigators said the car had been stolen during a carjacking Wednesday.
Police said wallets taken during the two robberies Thursday, along with a shotgun used in the holdups, were found in the stolen car. Detectives said Pesnell and Carter last week tried to steal a car from a Lawndale City Council member.
