Germany defeated Finland, 3-1, at Dortmund, Germany, to take the lead in pool B in the World Hockey Championships.
The Germans’ third victory gave them six points, with one game remaining against the United States on Sunday.
Switzerland, which lost in the semifinals of last year’s tournament to eventual champion Sweden, defeated Austria, 5-1, in a pool A game at Munich.
