Countywide : 9 County Judges Attend Conference
- Share via
Nine Ventura County judges joined scores of their colleagues from around the state in Palm Springs on Friday for the midyear conference of the California Judges Assn.
Ventura County Court Executive Sheila Gonzalez said the absence of two Municipal Court and seven Superior Court judges meant a lighter caseload for the courts, although small-claims cases, traffic matters and mandatory arraignments were not affected.
Gonzalez said the purpose of the conference, which runs through Sunday, is to educate judges on changes in the law, sentencing practices and better ways to manage their courtrooms.
