OAK VIEW : Store Owner Catches Suspected Robber

A man pretending to have a handgun robbed an Oak View market Saturday night before being tackled by onlookers and arrested by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies, officials said.
Investigators said 29-year-old James Ferrell Chenery, of Oak View entered the Corner Market in the 10500 block of Santa Ana Road, about 8 p.m. Saturday and demanded money from the owner, Henry Koh, who was closing the store.
Authorities said Chenery fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, but Koh followed and alerted people nearby who helped catch the suspect and restrained him until deputies arrived.
Chenery was arrested on suspicion of robbery and booked at Ventura County Jail, officials said.
