Pasadena : Restaurants Give to Schools

Twenty-seven Pasadena restaurants are donating a portion of their receipts from last week to the city’s schools.
The “Food for Thought” campaign, sponsored by the Pasadena Restaurant Assn., is raising money for the Pasadena Education Foundation. The foundation is trying to raise $1.5 million for school programs by the end of July. $1.3 million has been raised to fund a variety of academic programs and to buy computer equipment.
Each establishment has promised to donate at least $500, foundation spokesman Charles McKinney said.
Participating restaurants are Abiento, Beadles Cafeteria, Burrito Express, Cameron’s, Carl’s Junior, Catavino’s, The Chronicle, Crocodile Cafe, Crown City Brewery, Domenico’s Ristorante, Ernie Jr’s Taco House, Green Street Restaurant, La Bamba, Merida, Mijares, Mi Piace, McCormick & Schmick’s, Panda Inn, Parkway Grill, Pasadena Cafeteria, Pasadena Hilton, Peppermill, Pie ‘n Burger, Robin’s Restaurant, Roxxi, Stoney Point and Xiomara.
