Record Japanese Tourism Last Year: A record 11 million Japanese went abroad in 1992, where they spent an estimated $35.4 billion, according to a government report. The number of Japanese traveling overseas rose by 1.16 million from the year before, reflecting the sharp decline in foreign travel following the Gulf War in 1991, the report said.
