SIMI VALLEY : Participants Sought for Community Parade
- Share via
Organizers of the annual Simi Valley Days Parade are seeking applications from school bands, equestrian groups, owners of antique cars, community organizations and others who plan to participate in this year’s procession.
The theme of the parade, scheduled for Sept. 18, is “Community Pride.” The event is limited to 200 entries, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The parade will be a fund-raiser for the Corriganville Preservation Committee, which is working to restore a popular movie ranch in Simi Valley.
Parade participants must show that they carry liability insurance. There is no entry fee for nonprofit groups, but commercial floats must pay a $150 fee.
Organizers of the parade are also looking for volunteers to assist in staging the event.
Parade entry applications and information on volunteer work can be obtained by calling 581-4280 or by writing to the Simi Valley Days Committee, P.O. Box 164, Simi Valley, CA 93062.
