Aguilar and ‘Chorus Line’

Re “Thomas J. Aguilar; Theater Director Was in Original ‘Chorus Line’ Cast” (Section A, May 10): The story’s assertion, via Aguilar, that “of the 17 men originally cast in ‘A Chorus Line’ only he and one other were alive” is blatantly untrue: None of the male members of the original cast of “A Chorus Line” has died . . . of anything.

It is true that some of the creative people behind “A Chorus Line” have died, including producer Joseph Papp, book writers James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, lyricist Edward Kleban and director Michael Bennett. But, as of the date of Aguilar’s obituary, none of the genuine original cast male members of “A Chorus Line” had met their Maker.
