The Los Angeles City Council posted a $25,000 reward Wednesday to help find the killers of a man who was gunned down in Watts on Jan. 31.
Lynn Johnson, 31, was visiting a friend in the 300 block of East 68th Street when three men walking by shot and killed him and critically wounded the other man. Johnson is survived by his wife and several children.
“Neither Mr. Johnson nor his friend were involved in gangs, and the motive for this murder is unknown,” Councilwoman Rita Walters said. “While the police know that there were witnesses, they have not identified the suspects (and there) are no further leads.”
The council also renewed a $10,000 reward it offered in January for information about the disappearance of Westchester resident Katrina Elizabeth (Trina) Montgomery, 20, on Nov. 27. The woman’s family has put up $10,000 more in reward money.
Montgomery, a Santa Monica College student, was alone when last seen leaving a party in Oxnard in her late-model, blue Toyota pickup.
