Top Orchestra: The Los Angeles Philharmonic and Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen have won the top orchestra award for adventuresome programming of contemporary music from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. This is the Philharmonic’s third top ASCAP honor--the orchestra also won the national award in 1982 and 1987. The 1993 ASCAP awards will be presented June 19 in New York City.
