FULLERTON : 3rd Suspect Arrested in Brothers’ Stabbing

Police on Tuesday arrested a third suspect in the stabbing of two Fullerton brothers.
Michael Villanueva, 21, of Fullerton was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of the brothers, ages 17 and 19, on Monday. Police declined to release the names of the brothers, who were working on a car when they were stabbed in the 3100 block of Garnet Lane about 1:40 p.m.
The 17-year-old was listed in critical condition; his older brother was in stable condition, police said.
Investigators said it was unclear why the brothers were stabbed. Police said the brothers, who are not believed to have gang ties, may have been mistaken for rival gang members.
Police arrested two Placentia juveniles, ages 17 and 16, shortly after the stabbing. They were being held in Orange County Juvenile Hall in Orange. Villanueva was being held in Fullerton City Jail, Sgt. Joe Klein said.
