Monrovia : High School Vandalized

Monrovia High School officials say they may be close to catching some of the vandals who covered the school’s inner courtyard with graffiti and toilet paper last weekend.
Four outside walls of the main school building and one wall of the gymnasium were sprayed with black and blue graffiti. Police said the graffiti consisted mostly of tagging monikers and the word sex.
“Small amounts of graffiti have been discovered before, but it’s not usually this extensive,” said Linda Dempsey, the school district business manager. The walls were repainted Monday morning, which cost about $500.
Police and school officials are still investigating the weekend incident, and the school will try to make the vandals pay for the damage.
Dempsey said graffiti and other vandalism is on the rise at the high school, noting that the district spends about $3,000 each month cleaning up the mess.
