La Canada Flintridge : Trail Title Mix-Up Corrected
- Share via
After a paperwork mix-up that has been corrected, the city of La Canada Flintridge owns a hiking trail--something the city thought it owned three years ago.
The 1.3-mile path in Cherry Canyon was donated to the city by local developer Flintridge Estates Partnership three years ago, and the city has since spent $22,000 to pave it. But in February, the city learned that the title company forgot to record the easement transaction in the Los Angeles County records office.
“It was an honest mistake (by the company),” said Mindy Jacobs, city public works assistant.
The mistake was corrected, and the City Council on Monday voted to accept the easement of the trail it thought the city already owned.
