VANCOUVER, Wash. — A man who murdered one wife was sentenced to 29 months in prison for attacking another wife with a hatchet.
Stephen Marosi, 49, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder in the 1976 shooting death of his second wife, Janet. The sentence was reduced to nine years, and he served only about three years.
He was sentenced Thursday for hitting his wife, Carolyn, on the head with a hatchet on March 2. Their first marriage ended in divorce; they remarried after Janet’s death.
