Ueberroth Firm to Merge With Doubletree: A hotel company partially owned by Peter Ueberroth agreed to the deal with the Phoenix-based hotel chain. The merger between Doubletree and Boston-based Guest Quarters Hotels Partnership will create a 96-property, 24,000-room chain. The company will be led by Ueberroth, former co-chairman of Rebuild L.A., and Richard Ferris, former chairman of United Airlines. The value of the proposed deal was not revealed.
