Fujitsu Cuts Work Force: Japan’s largest computer maker, the latest Japanese blue-chip company to bend the promise of lifetime employment, plans to shed 6,000 jobs through outplacement and attrition over the next two years. Fujitsu Ltd.’s work force will be pared to 50,000. The company posted a loss of $81.1 million for the year ended March 31, and sales were down 1.5%. The company said last May that it expects to return to profitability in the financial year beginning April 1, 1994.
