CHIME Rings Up $200,000 at Knott’s to Aid Hospital

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles will receive more than $200,000 raised June 11-13 at Knott’s Berry Farm. The weekend event featured the Childrens Hospital International Music and Entertainment (CHIME) Festival presented by Lou Adler.

ACLU Foundation of Southern California netted $25,000 at its 34th annual garden party on June 13 at the home of Betty and Stanley K. Sheinbaum. The event honored Paul Conrad, Rabbi Laura Geller, Stewart Kwoh, the Rev. James Lawson, Monica Lozano, Eugene Mornell and Angela Oh.

AIDS Project Los Angeles received a $50,000 check from Terry Lundgren, chairman of Neiman Marcus, on June 4, at a store luncheon honoring Calvin Klein. An additional $12,000 was raised through Klein merchandise sold at the store with a portion of sales set aside for APLA.

Motion Picture and Television Fund received $10,000, net proceeds raised by the Screen Smart Set Auxiliary and the Motion Pictures Mothers Inc. at a benefit June 19 at Pickfair Lodge, home of Charles (Buddy) Rogers.

El Nido Services raised $11,136 at its April 4 matinee benefit of “Jakes Women” starring Alan Alda at the Ahmanson Doolittle Theater. The money will go to the agency’s programs for the needy.
