A newcomer to Universal in 1973, I’d had two beers with lunch at the Studio Cafe and asked for a third while reading a script to be synopsized.

“Sorry, sir,” said the waitress, “but the studio won’t let us put three drinks on one check.” Then she smiled: “But I can give you another check.”
