Transformer Fire Cuts Power in 2 Cities

YORBA LINDA — Residents here and in Placentia were without power late Saturday night after a electric transformer burst into flames.
Orange County Fire Department officials said that the transformer, which serves both cities and unincorporated areas of the county, said the fire was reported about 10 p.m. and was extinguished within minutes.
Officials said it was not known how many residents and businesses were without electricity Saturday night.
The transformer is at Buena Vista Avenue and Van Buren Street. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
