Boeing Cut Nearly 1,900 Employees in July: The company said it eliminated the jobs as part of its campaign to cut 15,000 positions this year. For the year, Boeing has cut nearly 10,000 jobs to bring companywide employment down to 123,000. Layoffs accounted for about 1,300 of July cuts, the rest coming through attrition, the company said. Boeing plans to reduce its payroll by 19,000 by mid-1994.
