COSTA MESA : Woman Found Slain in Her Apartment

A 64-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment, police said Monday.
Elsie F. Redmond was found dead about 9 a.m. Saturday by her son, police said. Homicide investigators said they do not know why she was killed.
Police declined to say whether there was any sign of forced entry into the apartment, where Redmond had lived with her son since February, or if anything was missing.
Redmond was last seen alive by her son, Neal Redmond, 42, about 10:30 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Mike Millington.
