Beilenson’s Vote Hurts the Economy
* I was appalled and shocked to read that Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Woodland Hills) voted to kill the space station! I am not an aerospace worker, just a citizen who is very concerned about the depressed economy in the San Fernando Valley.
Doesn’t Beilenson care about real people and jobs, jobs, jobs? Unless he was misquoted in the Times article, he seemed to favor tax dollars’ being used for unemployment benefits, welfare payments and food stamps. What is he actually doing to save jobs in the Valley?
Another headline read: “California’s Outlook Still Gloomy . . . “ Killing the space station does not help the Valley economy, especially when Rocketdyne in Canoga Park is one of the prime contractors!
