Ventura County sheriff’s detectives said Wednesday they still are seeking a 19-year-old man who allegedly abducted his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend in Thousand Oaks late Tuesday, shot at her mother and sped away in a car.
Sheriff’s Lt. Lary Reynolds said Mark Scott Sarrazin forced Stephanie Campbell into a car about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Westlake Boulevard, then drove off.
The girl’s mother, Linda Campbell, told detectives she felt sure that Sarrazin fired a shot at her during the kidnaping, Reynolds said.
Sarrazin, described as a slender white man about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, was believed to be driving a late model Chevrolet S-10 Blazer without license plates, police said.
Reynolds said sheriff’s detectives had no leads on the pair’s whereabouts, although they have issued a statewide police bulletin on the alleged abduction describing Sarrazin and the vehicle.
