St. Genevieve 17, Paraclete 14--John Arboleda’s 18-yard field goal with 3:20 to play was the difference at Antelope Valley College.
The winning kick was set up when Valiant defensive lineman Tony Orsini recovered a fumble at the Paraclete six-yard line.
St. Genevieve (1-1) was led by quarterback Alex Muller, who completed nine of 21 passes for 95 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown to Randy Iaccino with 30 seconds left in the first half that tied the score, 14-14.
Mike Kendrick paced Paraclete with 126 yards in 22 carries. His three-yard touchdown run gave Paraclete a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter.
