Re “Wear Helmets? No Way Kids Say,” Sept. 12:
I am 11 years old and I just moved to California from Bethesda, Md. I have been riding my bike with a helmet since I got my first bike because it was the law in Montgomery County. I feel insecure and stupid if I ride my bike without wearing a helmet because I know it is dangerous.
I just want to tell the kids here in Los Angeles that after awhile you’ll look reckless without a helmet and cool with one!
