Beschen Claims Surfbout Title

Shane Beschen of San Clemente took first place at the Body Glove Surfbout VI in six- to eight-foot waves at Lower Trestles near Camp Pendleton.

Beschen won $4,000. Rob Machado of Cardiff was second and Shea Lopez of Florida and Adam Repogie of Santa Cruz also made it to the final heat. Brian Wise of San Clemente won the bodyboarding competition and $1,500. Israel Paskowitz of San Clemente won the longboard competition and $1,000.
