PREP ROUNDUP : Freudenbergs Help El Modena Clinch Century Tennis Title

Brandi Freudenberg, who finished with a 45-0 singles record in league matches, and her sister Holli helped El Modena clinch the Century League girls’ tennis title Thursday with an 11-7 victory over host Canyon.
Freudenberg won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0. Holli won, 7-5, 6-1, 6-0. El Modena is 14-1, 9-1. Canyon is 6-4 in league.
In the Freeway League:
Troy 10, Fullerton 8--Staci Martin and Susannah Johnston, the No. 1 doubles team for Troy, defeated the league’s No. 1 doubles team of Anne Bialowas and Mia Nelson, 6-3, and won their remaining sets, 7-6, 7-5, as Troy upset Fullerton. Fullerton beat Troy, 14-4, earlier this season.
In the Olympic League:
Connelly 13, Cerritos Valley Christian 5--Julie Change and Tiffany Nishimoto won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, as Connelly (8-8, 7-1) clinched the league title.
In the Orange League:
Valencia 18, Anaheim 0--Jenny Gonzales completed a perfect season with a 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 sweep to push her record to 57-0. Valencia (17-3, 10-0) won its 10th league title in the last 11 years.
In Freeway League boys’ cross-country:
Buena Park 16, Fullerton 43--Jarrod Garritson won in 16 minutes 43 seconds to lead Buena Park.
In the Sunset League:
Santa Ana 15, Ocean View 50--Fredrico Morales (14:47) was first for Santa Ana.
In girls’ Freeway League cross-country:
Troy 16, Sunny Hills 41--Angela Grey won in 19:45 for Troy.
In the Sunset League:
Ocean View 16, Santa Ana 41--Taren Lawson finished first, running the three-mile course in 18:00 for Ocean View (6-1 in league).
