HemaCare Corp., a Sherman Oaks provider of blood-related products and services, said its losses widened in the third quarter because of continuing downward pressure on health-care utilization and the sluggish Southern California economy.
HemaCare lost $696,000 in the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with its $146,000 net loss a year before. The company’s third-quarter revenue fell 6% to $2.9 million from $3.1 million in 1992’s third quarter.
For the nine months, HemaCare’s loss widened to $1.9 million from a $956,438 loss a year ago, while revenue was essentially flat at $9.1 million.
