THOUSAND OAKS : Chamber Accepting Food for the Needy
- Share via
The Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is accepting donations of canned and packaged food for the needy, which it will deliver next week to the Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
“In the past, we’ve collected gifts for the holidays for the Girl Scouts,” said Steve Rubenstein, the chamber’s executive director. “But because the economy is so difficult this year, we’re doing this too.”
The chamber is requesting all food items included in a typical Thanksgiving dinner, such as instant or ground coffee, instant mashed potatoes, Bisquick, turkey gravy, stuffing mix, canned yams, canned fruit, pancake syrup, gelatin and pudding mix and small bottles of cooking oil.
Donations may be dropped off at the chamber office at 625 W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The chamber will accept donations through Nov. 19, when it will deliver the donations to the food bank.
For more information, call the chamber at 499-1993.
