WATER POLO : Brea-Olinda Beats Laguna Beach in Overtime

Jeff Ritter scored with 1 minute 45 seconds left in overtime to give Brea-Olinda a 7-6 victory over Laguna Beach in a Southern Section Division III water polo game Thursday at Brea.
Eric Matthews scored with 2:03 left in regulation to tie it, 6-6, for Brea-Olinda (19-8). Tucker Lowe had three goals and Tad Murphy added two for Brea.
In other Division III water polo:
Costa Mesa 20, Western 5--John Naigle scored a career-high eight goals, four in the fourth quarter, for host Costa Mesa (21-7). Sam Grayeli added six goals for Costa Mesa, which plays Temple City Saturday in the second round.
Trabuco Hills 12, Peninsula 7--Brian Martz scored five goals and Jimmy Bray added four for host Trabuco Hills (16-10).
Magnolia 9, Downey 4--Host Magnolia (17-10) advanced to play third-seeded Santa Barbara in Saturday’s second round.
Hacienda Height Wilson 15, Estancia 7--Visiting Estancia finished 15-11.
Manhattan Beach Mira Costa 16, Valencia 5--Visiting Valencia finished 7-12.
