Ed Belfour made 33 saves and won his fifth consecutive game as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Dallas Stars, 4-1, Sunday night at Chicago.
Belfour helped the Blackhawks improve their home ice record against the Stars to 17-1-3 in the last six seasons.
Jeremy Roenick’s league-leading ninth power-play goal was part of a three-goal first period. Roenick has four goals and eight assists in his last six games.
New York Rangers 3, San Jose 3--The Rangers’ seven-game winning streak ended, but they extended their unbeaten streak to 10 with the tie at New York.
The Rangers, 8-0-2 during the streak, were leading 3-2 when Igor Larionov scored on a backhander with 5:55 left in regulation.
Quebec 5, Florida 2--Mike Ricci scored his second goal of the game with 2:44 left to put the Nordiques ahead at Miami.
